Our verdict
Insert Coin suits gamers who want a licensed costume and gaming clothing from one shop, with an entry point at £19.99 and a 30-day return window. The trade-off is timing and reach: new ranges often arrive as preorder, and orders ship to a fixed set of countries rather than everywhere.

Pros and cons
Pros
- An order can go back for any reason within 30 days of receipt, for a full refund or an exchange.
- Everything the store lists carries a licence from the rights holder behind the games, so the designs match the screen rather than a homemade version.
- The Johnny Silverhand vest is listed at £19.99, so a first look need not be a full outfit.
- Coins are earned on every order and claimable as money on a later one, so repeat buying pays something back.
Cons
- Made to measure work is not offered: the store makes its stocked and preorder lines, so a custom fit is out of reach.
- An in-stock order usually takes 3 to 5 days to reach despatch, which leaves little room for a tight event date.
- Much of the newest range goes up as preorder, so the item you want may be waiting rather than ready to send.

Who it suits
- Fans who want a licensed costume and everyday gaming clothing in the same order, whether for a convention or regular wear.
- Buyers who might change their minds, since an order can go back for any reason within 30 days of receipt.
- Regular customers, as every order earns Coins and saved Coins come back as money on a later order.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone after a made to measure fit, since one-off and bespoke items are not offered.
- People who need to wear a costume this week, as new ranges often land as preorder and an in-stock order takes 3 to 5 days to despatch.
Core features
The terms here are plain. An order can be returned for any reason within 30 days of receipt for a full refund or an exchange, and that count runs from the day the parcel arrives. New ranges are often put up as preorder items when they launch, with available stock and preorder allocation listed on the site, so a costume you have been watching for can be reserved rather than missed. Everything in the range carries a licence from the rights holder behind the games, which is the reason to buy a costume from a shop built around licensed gear rather than from a general marketplace where the same character can look different in each listing. A Coins scheme runs alongside those terms: every order earns Coins, and saved Coins can be claimed back as money on a later order, so a repeat purchase is worth more than the ticket price. Read together, the return window and the preorder system mean a launch-day buy is a commitment, while the same item bought later carries more freedom.
The company behind it
The business behind the store is Insert Coin Limited, registered in the United Kingdom, and it started out making t-shirts for the games it liked to play in 2010. Support runs on email, help centre and community, which shapes who can answer a question about an existing order: order-specific enquiries have to be emailed, and the store states that its social team cannot pick them up, so a direct message or a post will not get a faster answer than an email. That arrangement suits buyers who keep their order details to hand and can wait for a written reply, and it is worth factoring in when a delivery is part of a deadline.

Frequently asked questions
What does a costume or a piece of clothing cost?+
The Johnny Silverhand vest is listed at £19.99, and full costume sets are priced above that, so a complete outfit adds up item by item. Coins are earned on every order and can be claimed back as money on a later one, which lowers what a repeat order really costs.
Can I return a costume after it arrives?+
An order can be returned for any reason within 30 days of receipt, for a full refund or an exchange. The count runs from the day the parcel reaches you rather than the day it was placed, which gives shoppers plenty of time to try a costume on at home.
Are the costumes licensed or fan made?+
Every piece in the range carries a licence from the rights holder behind the games, so the designs follow the official versions rather than being fan reproductions. Insert Coin began making its own t-shirts for games in 2010, and that clothing work is where the costume side grew out of.
Which countries does it ship to?+
Orders go to 17 countries including the United Kingdom, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Standard delivery is not available in every one of those destinations because of shipping and security restrictions, and a courier-only service covers the remainder, which can cost more and take longer. Plan for a courier-only service if your country sits in that group.
How long will my order take to arrive?+
For an in-stock item, processing usually runs 3 to 5 days from the moment the order is placed to the point of despatch. That is the store's own handling window, so the courier's transit time sits on top of it, and a preorder follows its release schedule instead of that window.
What does Insert Coin sell?+
The range is built around video game characters, and the store lists cosplay costumes, game costumes and accessories so a full set and smaller matching extras can sit in one order. The clothing side carries the t-shirts and hoodies the business started with.
Who runs the store, and who answers questions about my order?+
Orders are handled by Insert Coin Limited, registered in the United Kingdom. Order-specific enquiries have to be emailed, and the store states that its social team cannot pick them up, so a question about an existing order goes through email rather than a direct message or a comment on a post.
Can I get a new range before general release?+
New ranges are often put up as preorder items when they launch, with available stock and preorder allocation listed on the site, so an early item can be secured before wider release. A preorder is not an in-stock order, so it is worth checking the release timing before committing.
